Canon launched its 5th edition of Photomarathon in India

Canon launched its fifth edition of Photomarathon in India. The event took place at Good Shepherd's auditorium, Museum Road, Bengaluru on September 27, 2014 and attracted large number of photo enthusiasts, primarily DSLR users, hobbyist photographers as well as professionals. The Photomarathon is a uniquely designed event organised by Canon to promote photography culture through theme based healthy competition.
The Canon Photomarathon is a daylong event that brings together photographic talents from across India. This event is also organized by Canon in countries like Indonesia, Cambodia, China, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand & Vietnam.

Canon Business Services portfolio to comprise of Digitization & Archival; and Print Room services

Canon India launched Canon Business Services (CBS). With the launch of this new service, Canon’s Office Imaging Solution Division (OIS) expands its offering, becoming a provider of digital document management services and print room services.

Canon to strengthen its social responsibility continues in 2014

To make a long term and sustainable impact in the three areas of Eye Care, Education and Environment, Canon India Pvt. Ltd. decided to adopt a village in 2012, make it sustainable and then replicate the model in other needy communities.

In line with its continued commitment to the society, Canon  today, on the occasion of its first anniversary of the  “Adopt A Village” programme, has added yet another milestone to its philanthropic efforts by donating twenty solar panels to the energy production centre at Ferozpur Namak village in Mewat District of Haryana. Installed on the roof of the government school in the village, these solar panels would enable 30 fans and up to 20 lights to be operational for 6 to 8 hrs in a day.

Canon jumps into commercial photo printing domain

Canon India has entered into the commercial photo printing business in India, introducing the new DreamLabo 5000 commercial inkjet printer equipment targeting the retail photo and album printing industry. With this new launch, Canon India marks its entry into the commercial photo printing market, a new business domain for the company. The press announcement event was attended by Kensaku Konishi - President & CEO, Canon Singapore Pte Ltd.

Delivering a new standard of combined photo and text quality together with high productivity, the DreamLabo offers the production photo printing market a viable alternative to silver halide technology, which will revitalize the photo printing market in the country. In addition, through opportunities possible from premium quality, it offers both the production photo and the small batch premium print-on-demand (POD) markets substantial new revenue opportunities.

Canon India successfully accomplishes Sixth year of ‘Gurukul’

Canon India announced the successful conclusion of a two day residential program ‘Gurukul’ designed specially for its Channel partner’s sales team. Organized successfully for the last six years, this year’s theme was “CONQUERING NEW FRONTIERS” with focus on creating value for customers, product awareness, technical and soft skill set which will help them grow beyond ordinance of regular expectations and possibilities.

MPS in sight as market size rises to $30 bn Globally

The Managed printing services market is the new hot area for traditional printer vendors who have of late seen a great slump in the printer market globally. Sales for most of the printer categories have been in negative, except for laser printers. To address the challenge, the industry has indenfied a new business model to increase revenue. 
According to estimates, the managed printing services market accounts for $30 billion globally which is growing very rapidly. In India, there is demand for the managed print services to customers wanting to spend only on usages rather than owning and managing large printers for their printing needs. HP has huge plans to go about the MPS in India as it sees the market expand. Similarly Canon has resorted to strategies that lead it to revenue growth out of the MPS market in India.

Canon India stakes big on Digital Homes

Canon India has rolled out its first ultralight portable scanner imageFORUMLA P-201 scanner along with the introduction of CaptureOnTouch, a mobile application for easy scanning on the go.  The scanner and application together will help consumers to effectively scan the documents in variety of file formats like PDF, JPEG and so forth. Users can further share the scans through e-mail or archive in other applications on a click.

Canon India to support Eye care, Education and Environment

In line with its continued commitment to the society, Canon India added another milestone to its philanthropic efforts by donating an eye check-up machine to the vision centre at Ferozepur Namak village in Mewat District of Haryana. Under its ‘Adopt a Village’ social initiative, Canon India had undertaken the responsibility of developing the village infrastructure last year to provide seamless support to its inhabitants with core interventions in Eye care, Education and Environment for a period of three years.
