Centum Foundation launches Centum GRO to skill deaf youth in India

Centum Foundation, the CSR arm of Centum Learning, an ISO 9001:2015-certified skilling MNC, today announced the launch of Centum GRO to train deaf youth in India. The initiative is in collaboration with US-based Global Reach Out (GRO) a non-profit organization run by hearing-impaired individuals, which has already imparted leadership skills and entrepreneurial training to over 1,000 deaf youth across India, Kenya, Guatemala, Honduras, and Thailand.

Snapdeal Sunshine, Uber, and UrbanClap partner with NGOs to celebrate Christmas and New Year with underprivileged kids

Snapdeal in partnership with Uber and UrbanClap is planning to bring a special cheer to children supported by 25 of India’s leading NGOs, this Christmas and New Year. As part of this initiative, Snapdeal Sunshine will facilitate customers to donate happiness boxes to over 25 NGOs across India (including Teach for India, GiveIndia, World Vision India, Bharti Foundation, Akshaya Patra, Samarthanam and others), and will also help them arrange Christmas and New Year celebrations for the children they work with. The customers who contribute towards this initiative will receive official invites from Snapdeal to participate in person in these celebrations, at the location of their chosen NGO.

Imagine Dragons and SAP Join Forces to Introduce the One4 Project to Assist Refugees

With hundreds of thousands of refugees in urgent need of humanitarian assistance, particularly across the Middle East and Europe, Imagine Dragons and SAP are joining forces to introduce the One4 Project to support refugee relief efforts. The One4 Project symbolizes the exponential power of one by encouraging people to download the Imagine Dragons’ newly released song “I Was Me,” now available exclusively on iTunes worldwide at iTunes.com/IWasMe. Apple, KIDinaKORNER/ Interscope, and Imagine Dragons will donate their respective proceeds to the UN Refugee Agency (UNHCR). Further, SAP will also donate USD 10 cents for every download up to the first 5 million downloads from iTunes.

CSR boasts to deliver Cutting Edge Bluetooth Capabilities With First Bluetooth v4.1 Listings

CSR has announced the listing of its first Bluetooth 4.1 qualified solutions for its Bluetooth dual mode and Bluetooth single mode devices. Bluetooth 4.1, which was announced last week by the Bluetooth Special Interest Group, is set to improve the flexibility of classic Bluetooth and Bluetooth Smart communications. It will allow developers to design ever more attractive, secure and functional wearables and wireless sensors which can communicate with one another, as well as with multiple Bluetooth hubs at the same time.

Samsung to Initiate its ‘Nanum Village’ Project in Baidpura Village, Greater Noida

Samsung today announced the launch of its 'Nanum Village' project in India, with the adoption of Baidpura village near its Noida manufacturing facility. One of the first of its kind CSR initiatives by Samsung in India, the Nanum Village project will see Samsung bringing in several improvements in the infrastructure, health and education facilities in the village.
B.D. Park, President and CEO, South West Asia, Samsung Electronics and Rama Raman, Chairman and CEO of Noida and Greater Noida launched the project in the presence of Ms. Grace Lee, Head of Community Relations, Samsung Electronics and Mr. Hiralal Gupta, District Magistrate of Gautam Buddh Nagar along with other officials from Greater Noida Authorities.

Challenge to address India's Skill development crisis by NSDC and India@75

Power To Empower (P2E 2013), a national skills development challenge organized by National Skills Development Corporation (NSDC) and India@75 recently launched its third edition in mid-September 2013. Supported by the Muthoot Pappachan Foundation, the CSR arm of the Muthoot Pappachan Group, the P2E 2013 Challenge is aimed at identifying, selecting and rewarding the best solutions bridging the gap between the supply and demand of skilled labour in India.
The application period is open now until December 1, 2013 and P2E 2013 invites individuals, groups as well as organisations to apply. Winners of P2E 2013 will receive cash prizes of INR 1.5 lakh and INR 3.5 lakh for the Idea and Operations categories respectively, capacity building support as well as nationwide visibility. Canon India to support Eye care, Education and Environment

In line with its continued commitment to the society, Canon India added another milestone to its philanthropic efforts by donating an eye check-up machine to the vision centre at Ferozepur Namak village in Mewat District of Haryana. Under its ‘Adopt a Village’ social initiative, Canon India had undertaken the responsibility of developing the village infrastructure last year to provide seamless support to its inhabitants with core interventions in Eye care, Education and Environment for a period of three years.
