The Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas provided a glimpse of new technology and innovation to come during the rest of the year. There were more evolution than revolution to this year’s event, with many companies launching “me-too” or upgraded versions of existing products rather than breakthrough concepts. Flipkart continues to dominate mobile commerce in India

Flipkart continues its dominance of mobile commerce in India with 47% of share of visits among the major shopping apps in India, according to December 2015 data by firm SimilarWeb. Myntra occupies the second position with over 16% share of visits. The combined traffic share of Flipkart and Myntra stands at an overwhelming 63%. Amazon stands at the third position with 15.86% followed by Snapdeal with 13.84%.

Survey: Mobile Investments Are Paying Off

Red Hat announced results from a recent mobile measurement survey, which revealed that 74 percent of respondents whose organizations use key performance indicators (KPIs) to some extent to measure mobile application success are achieving positive return on investment (ROI), demonstrating that prior investments in mobile have paid off. Worldwide Semiconductor Revenue Declined 1.9 Percent in 2015

Worldwide semiconductor revenue totaled $333.7 billion in 2015, a 1.9 percent decrease from 2014 revenue of $340.3 billion, according to preliminary results by Gartner, Inc. The top 25 semiconductor vendors' combined revenue increased 0.2 percent, which was more than the overall industry's growth. The top 25 vendors accounted for 73.2 percent of total market revenue, up from 71.7 percent in 2014.

Enterprises are going ‘MAD’ for Mobile

Mobile phone user base in the Middle East and Africa (MEA) is second only to that in Asia-Pacific, with “just over 606 million people in this region having at least one mobile phone, and the total will pass 789 million in 2019”, according to a report released by eMarketer, the independent market research company, that conducted the survey on digital trends in tandem with Starcom Mediavest Group (SMG). Out of the total mobile users, the number of smartphone users in MEA was forecast to be around 106 million at the end of 2015.
