Software AG Adds Robotic Process Automation to the Digital Business Platform

Software AG  Software AG today announced that it is taking its partnership with robotic process automation (RPA) provider Kryon Systems to the next level with a technology license and distribution agreement. The partnership pairs Software AG’s webMethods Dynamic Apps with Kryon Systems’ Leo RPA platform, enabling automation from desktop to back-end systems.

Parallel Wireless Adds 2G Capabilities to Their 3G/4G End-to-End SDR Solution

Parallel Wireless announced the addition of 2G capabilities to their end-to-end cellular network technology. This solution will bring network virtualization principles (NFV) to 2G/GSM to reduce cost and complexity of rolling out or expanding 2G networks while enabling cost-effective migration to 3G/4G. Sonus and GENBAND complete merger; to become Ribbon Communications Inc

Sonus Networks announced the completion of the Sonus and GENBAND mergers following which each became a wholly owned subsidiary of a parent company formed for purposes of the transaction and renamed Sonus Networks, Inc. In connection with closing the transaction, Sonus Networks also announced that, effective today, it has begun conducting business as Ribbon Communications. The company will continue to trade on the Nasdaq Global Select Market under the ticker SONS until its new corporate name (Ribbon Communications Inc.) and its new ticker symbol (RBBN) become effective, which is anticipated to be by the end of 2017.
The transaction is a merger of equals and former Sonus and GENBAND shareholders each own approximately 50% of the parent company, which had approximately 102 million shares outstanding post close. SITA CEO rallies airlines and airports in community fight against cyber threats

The air transport industry has cybersecurity as a top priority with 95% of airlines and 96% of airports investing resources into major cybersecurity programs or pilots over the next three years. Yet research released today from global IT provider SITA shows there is still room for improvement with only one third of boards at airlines, and a fifth at airports, having fully integrated cybersecurity into their business plans.
Speaking today at a gathering of European air transport industry leaders, Barbara Dalibard, CEO of SITA, highlighted that while cybersecurity is the number one priority for almost all airlines and airports, it demands more attention and must be higher on industry board agendas.

Kerala aims to become electronics manufacturing hub using skills and startup strength

Kerala is looking to build on its success in software startups by rolling out a new set of policies to create a similar ecosystem for hardware that will leverage the state’s advantages in terms of skilled human resources, entrepreneurial culture and high consumption, to set up a global hardware and electronics manufacturing hub.
The Government of Kerala has already made clear its intent of promoting Electronics Hardware manufacturing in the state through policy initiatives, including budget declarations on setting ups hardware parks and funding for EMCs.
The state government had earlier brought out a ESDM policy to boost the sector in the state. Dell Inc. Expects to Donate Over $14 Million Globally in STEM Education for Underserved Children This Year

As a part of ongoing efforts to invest in a more diverse technology workforce, Dell Inc. expects to contribute $14 million in grants and technology donations to support future generations of STEM workers, in current fiscal year which ends Feb. 3, 2018. Current donations made across Dell’s 71 youth learning partners globally are expected to bring technology education to more than 1.5 million underserved youth. With the expected contributions, a total of 4 million children will be impacted through Dell’s strategic giving programs, since 2014.
The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics expects total number of jobs in STEM fields to grow 12.5% by 2022, in the U.S. alone.
