I have a mantra in life that those who know and work with me have heard many times: Go big or go home. It is the basis for how I live and how I run Veeam; and I am delighted that Veeam is going BIG! We are going big in many ways and today marks yet another step for us. Gartner has just published the 2017 Magic Quadrant for Data Center Backup & Recovery Solutions and, for the second consecutive year, Veeam is a Leader.
We see the Magic Quadrant (MQ) as the latest recognition of our rapid growth in the enterprise end of the market, where our cloud offerings are winning broad customer adoption, especially in the North American market. While we have dominated the SMB market for years, we are now gratified to see our latest product versions acknowledged as best-in-class by enterprise customers in head-to-head competition for deals.
We are immensely proud of this result because the MQ is the go-to resource for enterprise customers across the globe. To, again, be in the top-right position is testament to our innovative approach of delivering Availability for any service across any platform. But the “dot” only tells part of the story:
- We had the biggest increasing continuous movement in Completeness of Vision and Ability to Execute
- Veeam gained positioning on key competitors like Commvault, who dropped on both main axis
- Again, for the second year in a row, Veeam made large inroads into Veritas
- As the MQ shows, Veeam is NOT going home! Quite the contrary, we are strengthening our leadership in the industry. And the MQ is only part of the story.
We recently announced that we overtook Commvault in market share and industry-leader recognition. In Gartner’s Backup & Recovery Market Share Report 2016, Veeam was ranked fourth globally with a 27% year-over-year (YoY) growth, surpassing legacy backup providers who posted flat or single-digit growth. Similarly, within IDC’s Software Tracker, Data Protection 2016, Veeam was positioned in the top four vendors, once again validating Veeam’s vision and ability to execute is being embraced by customers across the globe.
We also increased our Net Promoter Score (NPS) by 11 points to 73, which is more than twice the industry average, passed the 250,000th customer mark, and, just one quarter into the relationship, are enjoying massive customer traction with HPE resell agreements. Not a bad few months for Veeam, right?
You can clearly see that no one at Veeam is thinking anything less than BIG. We are all laser-focused on innovating solutions that drive our customers forward — no matter the size of their businesses — to delivering the best user-experience on the planet and accelerating our growth. It explains what drives everyone in the company. I am proud that firms such as Gartner and our loyal customers recognize this success.
