PayPal in India announced the launch of two new campaigns- Shopping Buddy and Go Global to encourage Indian consumers and freelancers to buy and sell across the border and to leverage the global opportunity.
Both ‘Go Global’ and ‘Shopping buddy’ will work on the concept of referrals and encourage freelancers and consumers to leverage PayPal’s safer & more secure network across 200 markets and unique offerings like Seller and Buyer Protection. Once the referred friend activates his/ her PayPal account, the referrer stands to win prizes including an iPhone.
The campaigns will predominantly focus on the social and digital platforms and will be live from June 2017 until August 2017.
Narsi Subramanian, Director, International Spends & Sole Proprietors, PayPal said, “PayPal’s focus in India is primarily the freelancer community and the millennials. For both these audiences, PayPal offered an unparalled reach to expand business and access markets in a safe and secure manner. The Go Global and Shopping Buddy campaigns have been conceptualised with a strong referral element and will aim to driving engagement through familiarity. We look forward to welcoming more freelancers and global shoppers on board through this program.”
Go Global is a campaign to enable more freelancers to join PayPal and tap global opportunities. Through Go Global, PayPal aims to support the Indian freelancers who ‘Make in India’ and sell globally.
