Coolpad Cool 1 debuts at New York Fashion Week

Renowned Designer Vaishali S launches new collection ‘Chaatak’ in association with Coolpad at New York Fashion Week. The overwhelming response and critical appreciation at NYFW SS’17 marks the second time Vaishali S has showcased at NYFW, unveiling her much anticipated AW’17 collection titled ‘Chaatak’.

Chaatak (Pied crested cuckoo) is a migratory bird who has a significant symbolic relevance in Hindu mythology, a bird that quenches its thirst with only rainwater, a unique desire. Like the Chaatak, the artist also experiences feelings of restlessness, pain, joy and fulfilment. The fulfilment of one desire leads to a new desire. It’s a beautiful process where that they themselves become the creator, medium and creation.  This idea inspired Vaishali S to have a mirrored perspective of her own creative process.  The process was challenging, as it demanded a fine balance between objectivity and indulgence.

A unique harmony of contemporary silhouettes, rooted culture & global appeal, the new collection includes jackets, drapes, tunics and long dresses. The color story contains black & white, blue & brown and a hint of gold. This global platform witnessed Vaishali S’s collection being presented amongst other illustrious names such as Zac Posen, Oscar De La Renta, Carolina Herrera, Alexander Wang and Marc Jacobs.

Having established a good connect on the international front with the SS’17 NYFW, Designer Vaishali Shadangule said “I’m thrilled to be showcasing my collection in New York. The area of Indian hand woven textiles is very vast, so this time I’m presenting a beautiful blend of different textiles from different states in India. The collection showcases a unique harmony of contemporary silhouettes, rooted culture & global appeal.”

Known for her craft of utilizing lesser-known and diverse weaves of India imaginatively, Vaishali S new collection uses a mix of Khadi, Merino Wool along with other weaves of India.  An interesting aspect within the runway collection includes special garments with pockets allocated to place the Coolpad Cool 1 phone. Fashion technology takes a new spin as the entire campaign shoot and imagery for the new collection will be presented by using the Coolpad Cool 1 phone.

Commenting on the partnership, Syed Tajuddin, CEO, Coolpad India,” We at Coolpad, are delighted to partner with Vaishali, a world renowned designer whose line is being showcased at the prestigious New York Fashion Week (NYFW).  What was equally exciting is that Vaishali’s clothing line highlights the Coolpad Cool 1 at the NYFW. As a brand Coolpad sees itself as a strong empowering force and the Coolpad Cool 1 is a testimony to this powerful philosophy that enables consumers to see life in a more exciting way.”

Coolpad Cool 1 is the flagship phone of Coolpad, the first phone from the Cool series which brings together software and hardware strength of LeEco and Coolpad.  It was launched in India on December 28, 2016 at price of Rs 13999. Coolpad Cool 1 supports a dual rear 13-megapixel camera with dual-tone LED flash. It packs a 5.5-inch Full HD 1920 x 1080 pixels resolution, giving a wide viewing experience and better image quality.

The collection will also be showcased using jewelry pieces by homegrown label, Brand Mission Pluto by Aanchal Sukhija.
